Physibel Toolbox

The Physibel Toolbox is an online suite of practical pre- and postprocessing tools designed to support users throughout their (hygro)thermal analysis workflows. Developed to complement Physibel’s core software packages BISCO, TRISCO, SOLIDO, BISTRA, VOLTRA and GLASTA, the Physibel Toolbox helps streamline everyday tasks, reduce manual errors, and improve efficiency during thermal and condensation assessments. The Physibel Toolbox provides you quick and reliable assistance, all in one online location.

Unit converter for interstitial condensation

Vapour transport in building components can be described using several physical quantities, which are often expressed in different units depending on standards, references, or locations.

This tool allows users to convert between the quantities most commonly used in condensation calculations, including: Vapour permeability (δ), Vapour permeance (P), Vapour resistivity (R), Vapour diffusion resistance (Z).

In addition, the tool supports commonly used derived quantities such as: Vapour resistance factor (µ), Equivalent air layer thickness (sd).

For further background and theoretical explanation, users are referred to the F6 document available in the Physibel Knowledge Base.

Psychrometrics calculator

The Psychrometrics Calculator for moist air properties lets the user make quick relations between: air temperature, absolute and relative humidity, (saturation) vapour pressure, and dew point temperature.
Additional theoretical background can be found in the F1 document in the Physibel Knowledge Base.

Glass properties converter

This pre-processing tool helps converting radiation properties of glazing systems for input in Physibel software BISTRA and VOLTRA.

The radiation properties typically provided by glazing manufacturers are defined differently than the convention in Physibel applications. This tool provides the necessary conversions.

Climate converter for interstitial condensation

Interstitial condensation assessments in TRISCO (Condensation module) and GLASTA require the definition of monthly indoor and outdoor boundary conditions. Herein, indoor boundary conditions depend on the building use and are typically expressed through indoor climate classes. This preprocessing tool provides a clear and structured way to quickly generate boundary conditions according to the climate classes defined in EN ISO 13788:2012.

The converter allows the user to select a climate from its library, load a climate file (in EPW or TMY3 format) and/or make manual adjustments.

Further explanation of the methodology is available in the F2 document in the Physibel Knowledge Base.

Material library and editor

A library of temperature-dependent material properties (e.g. based on Eurocodes). The material property files can be downloaded for direct use as input in Physibel software (BISTRA and VOLTRA).

In addition to the library, the integrated editor allows you to create, copy, and modify temperature-dependent material property files.
